North Forsyth HS Band is Chosen to Participate in the Outback Bowl

North Forsyth's Marching Band has been invited to travel to Tampa and perform in the Outback Bowl parade and half time show on New Years Day. The invitation is a great honor for the band and they are proud to be a part of this event.  Now they need your help!...

Under the direction of Raymond Thomas and Jeff Keegan, the Raider Marching Band has been busy at work preparing for this years marching season. It takes dedication and hours of practice until the band is ready to perform at football games as well as the competitions they participate in. Their hard work and diligence has paid off and the band is thrilled. They have been chosen to travel to Tampa and perform in the Outback Bowl parade and half time show on New Years Day. The invitation is a great honor for the band and they are proud to be a part of this event. They are excited about the opportunity to be in a parade and be on TV at the game. Bands from all over the country have been invited to participate and the kids are really looking forward to meeting the other bands and having a great time.

The kids have already started preparing for the trip by working hard on their show as well as holding several fundraisers. They want to make sure that as representatives of Forsyth County that they make a good impression on everyone watching the parade and the game on New Years Day. They have several upcoming fundraising events and they would like to invite everyone to come out and support the band and help them get to Tampa. Here is a list of the upcoming fundraisers 

September 29, 2007 - Craft show at the school from 9 am to 4 pm. Admission is free.

Christmas is coming and we have a wide variety of crafters and vendors from all over the county that will be there. Come out and find that one of a kind gift for that someone special or find something unique for yourself. September 18 to October 30, 2007 - Fruit and Fudge sale.

We will be having our traditional fruit and fudge sale this year! If you like fresh Florida citrus fruit in the winter, we can get it for you. Get ahead on your holiday shopping as these make great gifts! The delivery date is 12/1/07, just in time for the holidays. We are also selling fudge and will have a variety available. October 16, 2007 Chili Dinner at the school

All you can eat chili dinner for $5.00 per person. We will have a large variety of Chili for you to taste and enjoy. This will be served from 4 pm to 7:30 pm in the Cafeteria at the school. Bring the family and let us do the cooking and the serving.

Come on out and be a part of something great! Support the band and help them get to Tampa!
