Forsyth Outlaws win the 2008 Kennesaw Memorial Day Tournament!

The 11U Forsyth Outlaws baseball team participated in the seventh annual Kennesaw Memorial Day Tournament. The Outlaws finished bracket play earning their pools number one seed with a 2-1 record, dropping their opening game to the West Georgia Jackets and defeating the Hopewell Hurricanes and Team Loganville.

The Outlaws started elimination play in a come back win defeating the Thomaston Warriors (7-4). In the semi-finals they battled with the Kennesaw Cobra winning in the final inning on back-to-back home runs (6-5). In the championship game the Outlaws played against their opening opponent, the West Georgia Jackets.

The Outlaws were down 5 to 0 but battled back to end regulation tied 5-5. In sudden death the Jackets and Outlaws exchanged runs until the bottom of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded the Outlaws drew an end of game walk to force in the winning run 8-7.

"They had their backs to the wall several times, but never gave up"  Head Coach Dave Strait said. "It was such a total team effort all weekend by a great group of boy's playing their hearts out."

The 2008 11U Forsyth Outlaws players are Ryan Peppenhorst, Justin Graczyk, Eric Furphy, Michael Strait, Justin Blastick, Brady Ballstadt, Logan Cole, Garrett Crick, Adison Schimmelpfennig, Chason Smith, and Timmy Whicher coached by David Strait, Arte Cole, and Curt Crick.
