An investigation is underway today to determine the events surrounding the death of a two year-old boy.
According to Capt. Paul Taylor, Commander of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, a 911 call was received at 7:02 this morning and deputies responded to 3525 Catalina Drive, only to find the child dead in bed at the residence.
Capt. Taylor stated that the child’s death is suspicious and that a full investigation is being conducted. The boy’s body was taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
During the investigation, the boyfriend of the victim’s mother was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Violation of the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. The man, 39 year-old Christopher Brian Gilreath, failed to register as a sex offender as required by state law after moving to Georgia from out of state in December. Taylor said that Gilreath is a registered sex offender in Pennsylvania and may have absconded from that state.
Taylor added that the child was adopted, along with a female sibling who is about the same age as the victim and lived with his adoptive mother and Gilreath, her boyfriend.

This makes me wonder how many other sex offenders might be lurking about with no one knowing. Obviously the authorities in Pennsylvania were not doing their job of watching him. I wonder if the authorities here in Georgia are properly checking up on sex offenders in our state.
Why would they let a woman adopt two babies who keeps company with disgusting creatures like that? The latest news says the baby had multiple blows. I hope he burns. Putting that jerk in her home with two babies? She's as much as fault as he is. I live on the same block and am horrified to know that animals like him are so close.
