At a Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce meeting today, the possibility of taking water from the Tennessee River was discussed as a long term solution to North Georgia’s water shortage.
Commercial Land Broker Rusty Hodges again raised the question of inter-basin transfers from the Tennessee River, which this time was met with much more support. (see Are we purposely dehydrating our growth?)
Representatives from the Forsyth County Water system, the Metro Atlanta Regional Business Coalition, and the State House of Representatives were on hand to candidly discuss the current water crisis, and potential solutions to it.
