Governor Sonny Perdue, will hold a live press conference Saturday at Mary Alice Park in Cumming, regarding to the State of Georgia filing of a court order in the Middle District of Florida Federal Court over the draining of Lake Lanier.
Accompanying the governor will be members of Georgia's Congressional delegation, and Lt Governor Casey Cagle, who issues this statement today: “I commend Governor Perdue for taking the necessary steps to protect our drinking water and we urge the court to consider the emergency nature of this situation and act swiftly. Georgians can be confident that we will not stand by while our lakes are drained of water. Protecting the citizens of our state far outweighs protecting mussels and sturgeon,”
