Persistent dry conditions across most of Georgia are a reminder that the state is under a level one drought declaration, which requires that all citizens follow a schedule for outdoor watering.

A level one drought declaration places hourly limits on outdoor watering. The schedule statewide is as follows:

· Oddnumbered addresses may water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, 12 midnight to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 12 midnight.

· Evennumbered and unnumbered addresses may water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, 12 midnight to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 12 midnight.

A level one drought is the least severe level of drought, however EPD will continue to monitor conditions statewide and issue revised drought declarations as necessary.

Local governments and water utilities may impose more stringent watering schedules. Citizens are encouraged to contact their local water providers for more specific guidance.

More information about the outdoor water use schedules can be found on the EPD web site at www.georgiaepd.com.
