Georgia DOT announces lane closures on State Route 400 in Forsyth County if weather permits.

“Crews will be removing the existing overhang on the State Route 141 Bridge over State Route 400. Starting Sunday night, 27th at 11:00pm traffic on State Route 400 north only will be detoured up the exit ramp at State Route 141, Exit 13 and back down the entrance ramp to 400 north. The work should be done by 5:00am Monday morning the 28th,” DOT District Engineer Russell McMurry said. “Monday night the 28th at 11:00pm the same detour will occur on State Route 400 southbound  overnight to 5:00am Tuesday morning. No lane closures will occur on SR 141. This work will only impact SR 400 northbound.”

Delays are expected on SR 400 northbound Sunday night and southbound Monday night  as traffic is narrowed to one lane and detoured up the exit ramp, across State Route 141 – Exit 13 and on the entrance ramp back onto State Route 400. “Please slow down through the area and pay extra attention as conditions are continually changing in the work zone,” concluded McMurry.

This work is associated with the 6.5 mile long widening of State Route 141. The projected completion date is July 31, 2009 and was bid at a cost of $50,684,808.76
