Georgia DOT announces lane closures next week on State Route 400 in Forsyth County if weather permits.

“Crews will be setting beams that are part of the new, wider State Route 141 bridge over State Route 400 next week. Monday night, the 25th at 11:00pm traffic on SR 400 southbound only will be slowed down for about 15 minutes to move a crane across the road. Each night next week starting Tuesday, 26th crews will be setting bridge beams over 400 south so traffic will be detoured up the exit ramp at State Route 141, Exit 13 and back down the entrance ramp to 400,” DOT Communications Officer Teri Pope said. “Crews will set beams next week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 8:00pm overnight to 5:00am the next morning.”

Delays are expected on SR 400 southbound nightly next week as traffic is narrowed to one lane and detoured up the exit ramp, across State Route 141 – Exit 13 and on the entrance ramp back onto State Route 400. “Please slow down through the area and pay extra attention as conditions are continually changing in the work zone,” concluded Pope.

This work is associated with the 6.5 mile long widening of State Route 141. The projected completion date is July 31, 2009 and was bid at a cost of $50,684,808.76
