An Alpharetta man died Friday night when his sport utility vehicle crashed into a tree in South Forsyth County.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist, Investigator Phil Alexander, Paul Truncale, age 38, was traveling west on Meadow Lane near Old Alpharetta Road at a high rate of speed when his 2006 Toyota FJ Cruiser left the roadway.   Truncale apparently overcorrected before impacting with a large tree on the passenger side.

Truncale, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died instantly.  He was alone in the vehicle.  The accident happened just before 8:00 p.m.

Truncale resided on Surrey Place in Alpharetta.

Alexander said there was no evidence of alcohol or drugs being involved.
