Come join the City of Cumming and the Citizens of Forsyth for the BEST 4th of July Celebration. The fun and activities begin at the fairgrounds Thursday, July 3rd with a carnival type atmosphere. There is something for everyone. Live music, fun and activities . Enjoy the awesome fireworks display at about 9:30 p.m. and stay for the dance contest.
This event will also afford you the opportunity to meet your candidate for the District 5 Commission seat, Jim Boff. Jim will have a tent set up at the fairgrounds so you can come by and let him now what your concerns are for the future of Forsyth. His interest in working for the betterment of the community has not just begun with this election cycle. Having worked to improve situations throughout our county to maintain and improve our quality of life, Jim Boff has served , most recently, as the Chairman for the SPLOST VI Transportation Selection Committee. His extensive involvement with the goings on throughout the county has provided him with invaluable knowledge about the inner workings of many of our most pressing issues. He has proven time and time again that not only does he work well and get along well with others, but that he does so in a leadership position.
Being retired will afford him the time necessary to serve the citizens of Forsyth County in a full time capacity as a commissioner. Jim is just an ordinary homeowner with no ties to the special interest groups of other candidates. You, the citizens, taxpayers, homeowners and voters of Forsyth County represent Jim's only "Special Interest Group." Plan on stopping by the Jim Boff tent to chat with Jim. and pick up your Boff yard signs.
You can visit Jim's website at www.jimboff.com.

SPLOST 6
Jim Boff... DIDN'T EVEN SERVE HIS OWN DISTRICT!!!
Serving on the committee are Jim Boff (District 1 representative); Charles I. Smith (District 2 representative); Bob Charles (District 3 representative); Charles Cantrell (District 4 representative); Ernest Turner (District 5 representative); Tracy Moon (Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce representative); and John Manton (senior community representative).
Mr. Waddell, Congratulations on becoming the Pam Bowman of Campaign 2008 (aka the city's patsy). Up until this article you had my respect but not my vote. Now with this sort of ridiculous attempt to instigate some negative campaign against an honest candidate, you don't have either. The appointees on this committee do not have to represent a particular district. They are just the type of citizens who care enough to make the time to get involved. I notice that your name is not there for ANY district. I respect the position you hold as a firefighter, and therefore am shocked at this sort of juvenile attack on Jim Boff for making the time to serve this county.
BOYCOTT BOFF!!!
Sorry to bring the truth! Pam or no Pam, City or not City... My name is not on there, because I am not shoved up Laughinghouse's rear! Thank you very much and as far as your vote OR respect? You want even write your name ... Mr. Boff - YOU ARE A COWARD!!!
I don't think Dave Richard wants to talk about water. He is the one that mislead Smart Growth about the water allocation.
Besides, by the look of his booth last night and at the parade today I think he wants to run the Bethel Park group instead of running for commissioner. He had signs up in his booth and on his trailer for Bethel Park. That should tell you folks that Dave Richard is the special interest incumbent.
If you want a voice vote for Bell.
Walt, For the record, this is the only comment I have made to your original posting.
I would point out that your lack of participation in trying to help the county with its ongoing transportation problems, and animosity towards a particular commissioner does not make me a coward.
Your research department may want to take note that I was voted in as Chairman of the SPLOST VI transportation committee by all of the other members of the citizens committee and thus served the entire county. But then so did all of the members of the committee. If I had been appointed to the committee from District 5, I suppose you would then accuse me of supporting District 5 only and not being a team player.
It may also suprise you that the citizens of the county voted in favor of the SPLOST VI approximately 70-30 and that no precinct voted a majority against it.
Jim Boff
November is a long way away!
My comments... I did not mean to sling any mud earlier. I never meant to offend anyone or hurt anyones feelings. I saw that information on a web page and would of liked to know how to serve on a committee and it not be in the district you live in. Which were answered by Boff and Smith. Some of the other comments got spun way out of control and some were not signing their name and I said somethings I am embarressed about... I want to apoligize to you Jim Boff for those comments - I AM SORRY!!!
A vote for me is a vote for you - Win with Waddell
