Patrick Bell...You didn't win this primary "Overwhelmingly"...You won "Defeat by Default", for only 17% of the registered electorate showed up to vote for Your candidacy...And granted, that was a majority of those showing up to vote, but I believe that happened because people that didn't vote were (Note "Past" tense here!) either content with the way things have been progressing "Slo-the-Growth" over the last two years, or they've become so disgusted with the mud-slinging Your "Bell Brigade" has put forth toward Incumbant Commissioner David Richard, that they avoided participating in this "Party-Primary" all together. Unfortunatly too, alot of people are simply too busy keeping their wheels turning in the game of Life anymore to make time to vote in every election...So you played your political "Hand" well indeed, and now, Patrick Bell, You will proceed in November against Democrat candidate Jon Flack.

I bid You Congratulations on that hard-earned victory over that "Formidable Opponent".

Meanwhile, it's apparent that your "Bell Brigade" has focused their Mud-slinging attentions on district 5 Commissioner "Run-off" Hopefull Jim Boff...Just as Commissioner David Richard predicted would happen in our "future elections" now.

MadJax, the court of public opinion has alread handed down its verdict on Smart Growth Forsyth County -- gulty of fraud!

The group allowed the ex-con, Jerry Wickliffe, to moderate what should have been a fair and impartial debate and pretended he was not a David Richard schill.

When an email was presented as proof positive that Wickliffe had lied to Patrick Bell, SGFC blew its one and only chance to redeem itself by saying, in effect, so what. We stand by him. By the way, wasn't that Mr. Wickliffe I saw at Richard's "victory party" Tuesday night. Fair and impartial, indeed.

You say low voter turnout was the thief that stole Richard's rightful place on the BOC. I say, as you have, prove it. I believe that with a high voter turnout, the 10% margin would have been closer to 20%. Either way, it's irrelevant. The voters got it right. Bell is in...Richard is out!

Oh well, at least David Richard proved to be consistent in his childishness. Instead of conducting himself with a little class in his defeat, he basically stuck out his tongue and said to the citizens, "It's all your fault. I hope you're happy."

Following the public hearing on Thursday, his infantile behavior continued. He refused to shake hands with Patrick and said, "I don't ever want to speak to you again." You Richard supporters should be very, very proud!

Forsyth County citizens now have a commissioner who won't treat them with utter contempt...a commissioner who won't threaten to sue them for libel when they disagree with him...a commissioner that will actually listen to them. SGFC may have lost its puppet, but the county has gained a commissioner who will represent citizens in North Forsyth as well as those in the south.

By the way, could your candidate be more out of touch with the citizens. Following his op-ed piece calling on cizizens to vote No on the question relating to electing commissioners by district 72% of the county voted YES!

That's right Debra. David Richard isn't a gracious loser nor would he have been a gracious winner. He would have bragged non-stop for the next 4 years. Thank goodness we don't have to listen to his bragging, childish name-calling, rants, threats, etc.

Jim Boff (which stands for Buzz Off Forsyth Females) and Boff's mentors Jim Harrell and Charlie Laughinghouse demonstrated in the last election just how out of touch they are with the voters in Forsyth County.

All three supported David Richard and all three supported electing commissioners countywide. Richard, of course, lost by double digits. And 72% of Republicans and 86% of Democrats said they want commissioners elected by district.

That is about as out of touch with voters as you can possibly get! Not much we can do about Harrell and Laughinghouse right now.

But we can elect another commissioner to the board who will be more in tune with what we want if we go out and vote for Julie Tressler.

Do you want the return of Strip-Mall Sprawl and Habi-Trial Housing this county was experiencing in rampant un-bridled growth to pick-up where it left off two years ago?

Apparently so...I don't, and I believe that is what will occour if Jim Boff fails to win the District 5 Commissioners seat...So I support his election as District 5 Commissioner.

My "Interests" as a Concerned Citizen lie in the preservation of this Countys semi-rural Charecter and Charm as a contrast from the likes of "City Living"...What brings most to live here vs there No less!

The implementation of some restraint with regard to Forsyth Countys "Development and Growth" was only forthcomming the sitting of "Tres Amigos" Laughinghouse, Harrell, and Richards, and all that I believe is what saved us otherwise from what was once an orgy of Zoning Applications brought to the Planning Department everyday prior...Them then negotiated mostly in the interests of those Development Speculators that--drunk on Cheap-money and import-labor--are part of what has brought our economy to where it is today!

Were it not for exactly the efforts of the current commission majority, would our current designation in both Economic Strength and "Liveability" be as strong dispite the malaise pervading the rest of the country?

I think not...If it wasn't for Laughinghouse, et. el., insisting on some better respect paid toward the likes of both #1 "DNR Part V Standards", thus effecting some environmental protections of the lands otherwise run rough-shod over, for #2 their reflection of many peoples concerns about further ignorance of an already over-burdened infrastructure--and shortage of Water then too--for its in-ability to meet further those demands of that development which has been already approved, but yet "Built-Out"...we'd be in alot worse mess that we are now!

Look about the lands located throughout the county that were stripped then to Red Georgia-clay, Streeted, Curbed & Guttered...That stand barren of built-out homes today! Their Green Sewer-Pipes pointed skyward and awaiting however many toilets aflush of that highest density applied for that went otherwise Un-protested and allowed...That is a FACT people!

Example: 47 of 48 "Reccommend Rejection" Plat Reviews put forth of the Planning Commission went over-ruled to become "Approved" by that onerous BOC sitting prior the "Tres-Amigos" putting the brakes on the Earthmovers otherwise bull-dozing Forsyth County amok!

Mark My "Motive" then...That's where I and my "IMBY" perspective "Profits"...The lake drops further everyday, yet the likes of these people ordain their entitlement of what finite resources remain available because "We need to balance the Tax Index with Business Growth"...so they can Get in, "Get It built", and Get out...Caring little if anything about the quality of life impacted for the quantity of "Business" they can procure to exploit it.

What then are the interests to be extrapolated of the likes of "Lynn" or "Debra"?

Perhaps that remains to be seen forthcomming the disclosure of whom they really are then..."Ladies"?

Jack, I find your posts very difficult to read and even harder to understand. You have several things to admit before you will be taken as a serious "concerned citizen".

First of all, Wickliffe (as an officer of Smart Growth) apparently lied to Bell. Not a good way to win the heart of someone you will be working with. Then to see him at the Richard/Busse place on election night looked great for him and his "objectivity" and "fairness".

If you think it was Charlie Laughinghouse and friends that slowed down building then there will be a lot of folks upset as it hit all over the country. Fuel costs have risen as well and the economy is looking glum. I did not know he had so much influence as to turn the entire country's economy upside down and stall housing all over. I say that in jest as he had nothing to do with this slowdown.

As to the wrath of debra and Lynn, you and your favored ex-commissioner have earned every bit of it. DR is the slimiest politician I have seen. And a few of you smart growth activists are pretty durn close to being the slimiest as well. You guys played dirty pool and got caught, David slung mud and it ended up in his face. Then when someone says something about you guys it's the Bell camp that is so bad. Honest, hard working voters know the truth and that's why they sent DR away.

To finish off this post, David Richard is the worst LOSER I have ever seen. With his nasty comments on his website (the night of the election) and comments to the paper. To top it off, if that's what he told Bell then he is a poor excuse of a man and deserved to lose even more.

Thank goodness for all you SmartGrowth folks. I don't know what we would have done without you all moving here and giving us a proper education.

My interest in having Julie elected is this: I believe she will listen to the will of "all" the people. Not just those in that PAC known as SmartGrowth.

For example, 72% of Republicans and 86% of Democrats favor electing commissioners by district. As Rep. Mark Hamilton said, "the people have spoken." I haven't talked to her about it, but I'm convinced Julie will go along with the voters.

What about Harrell and Laughinghouse and their trainee Jim Boff (stands for buzz off Forsyth females).Will they go along with the will of the people? Not on your life. They're too beholden to the SmartGrowth PAC. They oppose it and they don't care what the people think.

I will simply point out yet another lie from a card-carrying member of the Bell Brigade.

Debra, I did not refuse to shake Patrick's hand. I did so even though each and every fiber of my being wanted to ram my fist down his lying, despicable throat. I also told him that would be the last conversation we ever had. I do not speak to serial liars.

I then proceded to wash that hand with strong disinfectant soap and scalding hot water.

When will Bell supporters stop lying?

The answer is the same as when will Patrick Bell stop lying - never.

A - You have carried on like an egotistical idiot for over 3 years. You call everyone names and ridicule at every chance you get. People told you you better stop. But you knew better didn't you?

B- You have lied many, many times and the water allocation lie nailed you. You were caught red pandered, I mean red handed, in that lie and could not get out of it.

C - You, along with many of your "we know better than everyone" newcomers, tried to take what we made and screw it up. If we did such a bad job why did this become the fast growing areas that it did?

D - That letter to the editor in Sunday's newspaper was right on. The quotes: “In what way do you think I care about your feelings about me?” and “Now, please stop bothering me ...” are a prime example of how you have treated people. That is what lost you the election, more than anything. That rotten attitude.

David, Tuesday's election was a complete and absolute repudiation of you, your style of politics and everyone you support. Not only did you suffer a humiliating double-digit loss, 72% of Forsyth County Republicans and 86% of Democrats said YES to voting by district.

Then there was Mike Busse. Once voters knew you supported him, he crashed and burned in a very dramatic way.

You wanted Brian Tam gone. Instead, voters gave him more votes than any of the 10 candidates running for county commission. (Bell was only 129 votes behind him, incidentally).

Jim Boff is likely to be another repudiation of your style of politics. Had you not supported him, he might have won without a runoff. Once voters made the Richard/Boff association, he was in trouble.

I will never vote for a candidate because of their gender. But I will vote against a man who talks down to women as Boff did when he told Julie she shouldn't be running for county commission because she should be home taking care of her kids. That kind of condecension is too reminiscent of you politics.

Do you know what Bell did? He made an offer to the Boy Scouts to get them up and donated $1 per sign (out of his own pocket) to the troops that picked them up. His were up within 24 hours of his victory while you guys still had trash all over.

You say that Tressler has no substance. That's absurd. She has more substance than Boff. Boff can't turn down every rezoning just because he wants slow growth. That's unconstitutional. Julie Tressler will weight the rezoning, do the balancing act between property rights and health, saftey and welfare of the ajoining property owners and vote accordingly.

As it should be Lynn. I don't want another YES man, and that is what Boff has already said he will be. I am voting for Julie Tressler.

Sadly, it appears what little working brain he had is being eaten away by the many losses he's had recently. We all know the ones by heart by now: $50,000 judgment in the Banks case, $200,000 judgment in the Gooden case, $70,000 in legal fees the county is trying to get from him in the Kreager case. And topping it off, he got slammed in his quest to declare bankruptcy in order to duck out of his obligations to pay those judgments.

Mr. Milum is a loser in life, and has never, ever proven a single allegation of corruption in his life. If there were more than 10 people in this county who believed a thing he says or writes, he might have had a hand in my defeat, but there aren't more than 10.

As a former Dave Richard supporter, it still amazes me that Mr. Richard can't go away with just a smidgen of grace. Mr. Richard, I told you long ago that if you really wanted to win this race you should have kept your mouth shut and your posts to yourself....I think I said this back in January 2008 or so. Guess I was right. You alienated me long ago with your rude and downright nasty treatment of me and I was a strong supporter of yours at one time. Regardless of what you think of me, I made phone calls in the previous election for you, urging people to vote for you. You lost because you turned people off plain and simple this time around. And Mr. Bell has what it takes to lead this place in a positive direction. You just don't get it do you? If you had any sense, you would sit back and do a self-assessment and figure out what went wrong. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. By the way I am voting for Tressler, because I believe she would serve this county well. I believe she will not go along to get along either. It is high time we get a strong woman in local government to stand up to the little boy mentality that is pervasive around here.
