Cumming Digital Billboard To Show Primary Results Live
CUMMING, GA For the first time, Forsyth County residents will be able to see the results of the Georgia Primary as they happen, thanks to the latest technology in outdoor advertising.
Digital billboards across the state will provide real-time election results from the upcoming primary. As precincts begin reporting, the candidates receiving the most votes will have their names and vote percentages displayed on digital billboards.
Because digital billboards are changed electronically, the percentages and relative places of the candidates will be updated instantly.
The Outdoor Advertising Association of Georgia announced last week that 22 electric billboards in eight cities -- including metro Atlanta, Cumming, Rome, Augusta, Brunswick, Albany, Macon and Valdosta -- will carry election updates from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The digital signs will also post final results, when they are tabulated.
“We are very excited to provide such a valuable service during a pivotal political race to the people of Georgia,” said Conner Poe, Outdoor Advertising Association of Georgia Executive Director. “This new technology lets us provide this important information as it happens to the hundreds of thousands of people who see these billboards.”
"Georgia’s outdoor advertisers are responding to significant statewide interest in the outcome of the presidential primaries."

Digital billboards are an eyesore. If you turn on the radio you can get updates on the election without polluting the natural beauty of the environment. The city of Cumming needs to stop putting up more billboards; it's starting to look like New Jersey around here.
