In keeping with the local format of its online county-wide news service, HomeTownTimes.com now offers HometownBandstand.com.
 
HomeTownBandstand.com is a unique site that features local and regional bands on their way up.  The format is rapidly expanding, and will offer a wide variety of features as it continues to grow. 

On March 25, 2007 their first online Battle of the Bands event will be launched.  Fans will vote daily on their favorite group/song until May 6th, when the winning band will be announced.

All bands from Georgia are welcome to join this contest.  Entry is FREE.   

Prizes include:

Feature show at Sweetwater Bar & Grill in Duluth on May 26th, beginning at 9:30 p.m.  (The top 3 finishing bands will be featured in this event).

Twelve hours studio time at Namaste Studios in Cumming, Georgia (first place)

Star in a ‘reality show’ about the making of the winning bands music video.  This will result in two unique prizes – an actual music video and the show, which will air weekly at HometownBandstand.com and most HomeTownTimes.com news sites.  Rain Piercing Productions will produce both the show and the music video. (first place) 

There is still opportunity for bands to register.  They may do so by sending an email to: Bandstand@hometowntimes.com.  Included in the email should be a downloadable version of the song the band is entering, two pictures of the band and a brief biography. 

An optional feature available – and recommended – to all entrants is an Intro Video.  This is simply a short, homemade video of the band introducing themselves, greeting the audience and asking for votes!  It is an impactful way for bands to connect with new listeners.
