About 5pm Friday evening, a fire was reported at the Sherwin Williams Paint store on Atlanta Highway, It started as an exterior fire, and extended to the interior, in the warehouse section of the building, where significant amounts of paint and chemicals were stored. "The fire had the potential to become very large with high hazards that could have resulted in many injuries due to explosions." Cpt Jason Shivers, Forsyth County Fire Department Public Information Officer said.
5 engine companies , and 2 ladder truck companies, a total of 20 personnel responded to the fire. Engine 2 was the first to arrive on the scene, and began an aggressive attack on the fire from the inside and the outside, preventing the fire from spreading further.
There were no injuries, and the blaze does not appear to be suspicious although the exact cause remains under investigation.

Once again our public safety people come through for us. THANK YOU!
The fire department has had cuts of 36 fireman, 2 engines, 2 stations, 1 heavy rescue and 6 vacancies not allowed to fill. The big one is coming and they don't have the resources to handle. aggressive firefighting with limited resources can only last so long.
