FORSYTH COUNTY, Georgia – Four members of the Forsyth County Code Enforcement Department recently earned their Level One Code Enforcement Officer Certification. Those receiving the certification include Senior Code Enforcement Officer Douglas Briggs, Senior Code Enforcement Officer Joseph Robertson, Code Enforcement Officer William Amos and Code Enforcement Officer Victoria Nunez. The certification program spans a two-year period with classes taught on a rotating basis. The course focuses on current legal aspects of code enforcement, how to identify code problems, professional methods for abating code violations and best code enforcement practices.

The four officers received thirty-six hours of required course training in a variety of topics including enforcement techniques, environmental issues, case investigation process and zoning code enforcement. Twelve hours of elective courses on various code enforcement topics, along with related tests, are also required as a part of the certification process. “We are certainly proud of our staff members for earning this certification,” Code Enforcement Supervisor Steve Zaring said. “This training will help enhance our efforts of serving the community to the very best of our ability.”
