A brush fire erupted Thursday evening in a wooded area of Northeast Forsyth County, burning approximately 9.5 acres.  Forsyth County Fire Department and the Georgia Forestry Commission responded to the fire at around 5pm Thursday evening, off Anderson Lake Road, at the end of Bear Mtn Road.  The nearest structure was a residence about 200 yards away, no damage occurred.

The spread of the fire was contained within 30 minutes of the arrival of the Fire Department, who responded with 3 engines, 3 brush trucks, and 1 tanker, a Kubota wildland vehicle, and an ambulance.

According to Captain Jason Shivers, the cause is still under investigation, however there is no reason to believe this was anything other than an accident.
