At last count, over 1400 absentee ballots for the upcoming runoff election are currently in the process of being responded to with rejection letters from the Forsyth County Voter Registration Office. The primary reason for the rejections are that the request is not signed. "This is a serious situation" Gary Smith, chief voter registrar said. " With this short timeframe for the runoff, many people may not get their ballots in time for their votes to be counted"
According to state election law, requests for absentee ballots must be signed by the applicant. Forsyth County elections office reviews each application, and accepts or rejects it based on several criteria, including name, date of birth, address, and and signature. If a ballot request is rejected, a letter is sent out the applicant explaining why it was rejected.
Since time is short with weekends and holidays before the election, this makes increasingly unlikely that another absentee ballot request can be mailed, returned with a ballot, mailed back with a vote, and received in time to count.
The Forsyth County Elections offices is urging citizens to either submit another request immediately, or make plans to vote in person. Early voting is available this week at the Forsyth County administration building, and and at the 5 satellite locations next week (Mon – Wed)
Hours this week in our office are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and next week at the satellite offices – 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

As a democrat, I have to say that this crazy form requires the ability to read and write (in cursive) as well as take personal responsibility to make sure everything is filled out correctly. If that's not an attempt to suppress democratic voters, I don't know what is. I guess I'll just have to vote for Al Franken on December 2. Or is it the 3rd?
I guess you need to have at least 1 brain cell to vote. Just goes to show that voting should require some IQ, not just a heart beat. Oh not even a heat beat in some cases.( lots of dead people vote too)
And this could be a "god-thing", since most of the county is "oclor-pulling" the lever anyway.
