Local Elections are always historic events in Forsyth County, GA. The 2008 Election season is nearing the final stretch, as residents will have an opportunity to make their voices heard any day, Monday-Friday of this week, and finally on Tuesday, July 15th.
Since the year 2000, Forsyth County has made it possible to vote in advance, and "Vote in Person" at any of several locations in the county.
Advance Voting is being held at five locations throughout the county the week prior to each election (Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30pm).
Advance Voting Locations are as follows. No matter where you live in the county, you can vote at any of these locations during advanced voting.
If you prefer to vote the old fashioned way, Polls will be open in 32 election precincts on July 15th, from 7am to 7pm. Results should be available within a few hours of Poll closing on the 15th.
Several local races have more than 2 candidates, so there is likely to be a runoff election as well. The runoff date is scheduled for August 5, 2008.
If no candidate in an election reaches a 50% plus one vote majority, the two candidates with the most votes will square off in the runoff on August 5th. Advance Voting for the runoff will be July 28 to August 1, 2008
Advance Voting will be held at these locations the dates listed above from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm daily. So be a VIP…Vote In Person!
If you choose to vote on the 15th, take a moment to confirm your voter registration status and voting precinct or view your sample ballot online, visit the Voter Registration and Elections Department page on the Forsyth County Government Web site at www.forsythco.com and click “Am I Registered to Vote?”.
