An estimated 10 percent of the American population has some type of communication disorder and 5 percent have some type of sensory processing disorder. Early intervention has been proven to significantly reduce or totally eliminate these disorders, as well as to prevent accompanying social, emotional, and learning difficulties form developing. Kidz Therapy Networks Inc. is pleased to announce that we can provide occupational and speech and language therapy screenings at your school, at no cost to your school. Our screenings are designed to detect an issue as early as possible so that the appropriate remediation measures can be taken before this problem can compound itself. All screenings are conducted at our clinic, however we can travel to your child’s school as well. We will provide all materials needed (i.e. permission slips).
Speech-language-hearing screenings are offered for children 1 year and older. The screenings take from 15-25 minutes per child. Typically, screenings are offered annually each Spring or Fall. The screenings satisfy school entrance requirements required by the State of Georgia.
Occupational therapy screenings identify concerns with regard to fine and visual motor skills (pencil grasp/handwriting), sensory processing (attention), and motor planning (organization) skills that have to potential to impact a child both academically and socially. These screenings are offered to children from 1 year and older and take approximately 15-25 minutes.
Kidz Therapy Networks Inc. only hire clinically trained, highly qualified speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists. The speech-language pathologists hold master’s degrees in speech-language pathology, are licensed by the Georgia State Board of Examiners for Speech Pathologists and Audiologists, and hold Certificates of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. The occupational therapists hold degrees specialty degrees in the Science of Occupational Therapy, hold advanced trainings, and are certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (only standardized test that assess motor planning and sensory processing skills).
