Christmas in the Smokies

Are you looking for something different to do this weekend?  How about this: Wake up early Saturday, plan on breakfast at the famous Dillard House in Dillard, GA, or one of the many restaurants in Franklin, NC, drive though the historic Cherokee Indian Reservation, and over the mountains in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  By noon you can be in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge Tennessee.   Deciding what to do next might be the toughest part...

Deciding what to do next might be the toughest part.  Here are a few ideas:

Dollywood has something for everyone.  At Christmas time, they have several heartwarming productions that the whole family can enjoy.  The fabulous Christmas lights and beautiful performances will leave you speechless.  Their production of “Babes in Toyland” left all the children spellbound as they watched the toys come to life and dance around the stage.

The park is lit up and decorated for the holiday season.  Carolers are included, strolling through the crowds of people and singing the classic holiday songs.  Christmas cheer is found everywhere.   Even the ride attendants are decked out for the holidays in Santa Claus hats.

You can even shop for that unique Christmas gift you’ve been looking for to give to that person who has everything.  There are craft shops all around, just the perfect place to look for gifts.

All children, young and old, will enjoy the rides and games throughout the park.  The aroma of good food is constantly tickling your senses and beckoning you to come inside one of the many restaurants.

At night, the park comes alive with a parade of lights and dancing toys.  A musical pyrotechnic show can be seen over the lake.

“The Magic of Christmas” is alive and well at Magic Beyond Belief.  The moment you arrive, you’re pulled into a fast paced holiday magic show.  For the Christmas season, Magic Beyond Belief is putting on its “The Magic of Christmas” performance.

The name is carried out throughout the show with holiday costumes and wonderful Christmas stories, accompanied by magical illusions, leaving people of all ages awestruck and entertained. They even have a magic shop inside the theatre, so you can do some shopping for that little, or not so little, magician in your life.

Terry Evanswood, a recipient of the International Magicians Society’s prestigious Merlin Award, and all his magical helpers are very talented.  The show moves at a speed that keeps your heart beating a little faster as you eagerly await the climax of each mind boggling illusion, only to be swept off into another magical adventure.

Magic Beyond Belief is a wonderful, family friendly night of amazement for all to enjoy.  Come enjoy “The Magic of Christmas” at Magic Beyond Belief.

And, oh yes, there is lots of shopping available too!  What are you waiting for?  Go and see all the wonderful surprises for yourself.
