To most students, the 100th day of school means only 80 more days remaining. But to the first grade students at Sawnee Elementary, the 100th day of school means giving back to the community.

Under the leadership of First Grade Teacher Beverly Jablonski, the students in her class as well as the first grade classes of Becky Bray, Debbie Clark, Michelle Pebley, Jennifer Roach and Esther Whitt set out to collect 100 cans of food to donate to Cumming First United Methodist Church Food Pantry Program and The Restoration House.

To their surprise, the students actually collected over 200 cans of food.
