North Forsyth Middle School held the annual Optimist Oratorical Contest on Feb. 15 to determine finalists for the county-wide competition to be held Tuesday, March 4 at the School Administration Building. The students spoke on the topic “WHY ME? WHY NOT?”
First place winners were Cailey Abercrombie and Steven Bryant. Runners-up were Stefani Shepherd and Mason Allen. Other school finalists included Hannah Gillon, Cassandra Hicks, Jordyn Holzer, and Patrick Sanderson.
Serving as Coordinators for the NFMS competition were Mrs. Ivy Hilliard and Mrs. Ashley Millard, both 8th grade Language Arts teachers.
The competition is sponsored by the Forsyth-Cumming and Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Clubs.
