With fall arriving, women tend to experience electric hair, and What Women Want Passport Magazine wants to help you keep your tress tame. We have asked the experts, and most have said not over-drying your hair is usually the key, while a couple of stylists -- who seemed to have a zip code of 90210 -- proclaimed it is all in a branded product. But we are going with the majority and tell you the steps to take in eliminating electric hair, which begins with trying to allow your hair to dry naturally when possible.
If you must blow-dry your hair, only dry about 80 percent of the way. When drying, choose a water based styling lotion or spray – the products that contain alcohol strip oil from hair, making it more susceptible to static. Nylon bristles also generate a charge, so switch to a wooden comb or a brush with rubber tipped bristles.
When wearing a hat, rub the inside with a dryer sheet, and if you have flyaways later, mist your brush with water or Static Guard, and run it through your hair. Or simply moisten your hands with and gently pat your head.
So...save the big money for a great pair of earrings rather than those expensive hair products. Consult your hairdresser or send us your tress distress and we will get an answer. Our email is pursemag@yahoo.com.
