On Sunday, October 22 at 3:00 p.m. Cedar Hill Enrichment Center will open it's doors to recognize and thank area hairdressers and salon workers - a FREE 'thank-you' community event.

"Salon workers spend hours everyday on their feet, working to please their customers, keep up interesting conversation and do quality work. This is often a thankless job, but even more, it carries an incredible stress-load," stated Sherry Sabine, Cedar Hill Marketing Director. "We wanted to recognize these wonderful people in a positive way - give them a special day where they are pampered."

The special Open House will run from 3 - 5 p.m. Snacks will be served. There will be a time for sharing where the attendees can down load their joys and frustrations as well as a short session where de-stressing techniques will be shared with the group. The hope is that those who attend will learn techniques to help them deal with the stresses of daily life in a busy and competitive industry.

All participants will be welcome to enjoy the nearly 20 acres on which Cedar Hill sits - the nature trail, labyrinth and Peace Garden. This will be their time to relax and enjoy the 'spa experience'. They are encouraged to bring a friend along with them - whether or not he/she works in the salon related industry.

Cedar Hill, founded 11 years ago as a retreat and day-spa facility where people could go for refreshment from the world's stresses and complexity, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit committed to serving the public and enabling people to live positive and enriched lives. Offering this special open house to salon workers seemed a natural fit for them.

And, Cedar Hill is no stranger to reaching out to the public and wanting to help. The founders of Cedar Hill, June Racicot and Kathryn Cliatt, founded THE PLACE, GA HIGHLANDS MEDICAL SERVICES, and FAMILY HAVEN, all non-profits in Forsyth County. They believe that we have a responsibility to help make the world a better place and that begins right in your own neighborhood. June and Kathryn now sit on the Cedar Hill Board of Directors.

Kat Stratton is Executive Director of Cedar Hill. She is hopeful that many people attend Sunday's special event. The more people reached out to, the better. Says Stratton, "Why do we wait for some horrible disaster, like a hurricane or other tragic event to reach out to each other? That is something we should be doing every day."

Cedar Hill Enrichment Center is located at:
5735 Dawsonville Hwy., (Hwy. 53)
Gainesville, GA 30506 (Forsyth County)
