Pet Oxygen Masks Donated to Forsyth County Fire Department by Creekside Animal Hospital

Pet owners can rest easier knowing that all manned fire engines in Forsyth County will now be equipped with pet-friendly oxygen masks.  On June 5, Creekside Animal Hospital presented Captain Jason Shivers, Forsyth County Fire Department Inspector General, with oxygen masks designed specifically for pets.

These masks can be used by county firefighters to assist in the rescue of pets who suffer from smoke inhalation in the same way that humans suffer during fires. Creekside Animal Hospital owners, Dr. Sam Adams and Debbie Adams, recently learned of the availability of these potentially life-saving masks and purchased the masks for donation to Forsyth County.

Creekside Animal Hospital donated eleven sets of masks, each set consisting of large dog, small dog and cat-sized masks. Dr. Adams noted that “you hope these masks are never needed, but firefighters are now equipped if the need arises, and they’ll be able to provide immediate care for pets.”

Creekside Animal Hospital is located at 2580 Freedom Parkway in Cumming and can be contacted at 770-889-4426.
