The City of Cumming has the BEST 4th of July Celebration around! Our Independence Day Celebration starts on July 3rd and includes a wonderful fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds, along with an "all age" dance contest following the fireworks. A live band, refreshments and inflatables for the kids will round out the evening, so bring your blanket, sit out on the lawn and enjoy all the festivities.

Then...come and enjoy the Steam Engine Parade beginning at 10:00 a.m. on July 4th. The Parade will include antique tractors, steam engines, antique cars and many other floats decorated in the spirit of the holiday.

Following the Steam Engine Parade, visitors can take a closer look at the steam engines, tractors and cars that will be on display at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

A Cumming tradition, the Independence Day festivities in downtown Cumming have been a family favorite for years, and this year's event is sure to be the best ever!

For more information, visit the City of Cumming's web site, www.cityofcumming.net, click on "Departments," and then "Fairgrounds."

well to answere the question below this comment i will have to ask what you think the forth of july is? because were i come from it is the day we signed the declaration of independents. Or the birthday of our country. In fact the the revolutionary war started a year before the signing of this document. so technicaly people have been dying every day for about a year before the forth of july. in my opinion for the sake of honoring the men and women who died, it makes more sence setting of fire works and celebrating any day before the forth of july. :)

i'd consider this thing that we are expressing our gratitude for 3 days, not just 1. my 2c.

I would imagine that Cumming and other cities have their fireworks on July 3rd so that all of us can celebrate with our own families in our own backyards on July 4th.

To all the brave defenders of America who can't be home on this Independence Day, and to all the families who must celebrate while a loved one is on duty far away, this celebration is all for you.

Way 2 Sassy--

Thank you to your husband for his service in protecting our freedoms. People forget how much sacrifice is involved for our men and women in the armed services and to the family they leave behind in the states. So ....to you and your husband, Thank you very much for your sacrifices and service.
