Nestled in the heart of Atlanta – in Grant Park at the intersections of MLK, Memorial Drive and Hill Street – is Daddy D’z BBQ Joint. By far the best BBQ I have had in Atlanta – EVER! I give Daddy D’z 5 stars out of 5. I can see why the list of accolades runs long and why it has been the favorite of Georgia governors and legislators for decades (aside from the fact that it’s only 5 minutes from the state capitol building.) When seeking out BBQ in Atlanta Daddy D’z will always satisfy with very reasonable prices, a non-commercial feel, and a free live blues band Friday and Saturday nights. Hey, if you’re stuck in connector construction traffic just hop off at MLK and ease your nerves with a pulled pork plate or some ribs.
Best meat: Ribs. Ask for fresh from the smoker and sauce on the side. Because they are a restaurant and keep ribs warming on the smoker they MIGHT dry out a bit since they run batches.
Best side: Mac-and-Cheese, baked to perfection with real cheese.
Alcohol: Bottled beer only – domestic and imports
