Three Sisters Vineyards & Winery’s signature event, the 10th annual Georgia Wine Country Festival, will be presented the first three weekends in June on Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5, 11-12, and 18-19 at the vineyards and winery location in Lumpkin County near Dahlonega. The three weekends will be filled with fine wine, art, and music. Celebrating ten years in 2011, Dahlonega-Lumpkin County's original wine celebration has Free General Admission. Food and beverages will be available for sale inside the festival by local Chefs and restaurants. A "Georgia Wine Garden" will be presented for a $20 fee to visitors and includes a keepsake wine glass. Georgia wines from around the entire state of Georgia will be featured. Winery guests invited this year include those from Boutier Winery, Danielsville; Chateau Elan, Braselton; Georgia Wines of Ringgold; Horse Creek Winery, Nashville; Warm Springs Winery, Warm Springs; Three Sisters Vineyards, Chestatee, Walasiyi Wine Company, and Fat Boy wines from Dahlonega, and more.
Celebrants will enjoy unique musical entertainment by regional musicians presenting bluegrass, folk, Americana, and rock ‘n roll. PAWS (The Pet Adoption and Welfare Society) will be raising awareness and donations during the event (visit www.facebook.com/pawsdahlonega for more information).
Three Sisters’ 184 acre vineyard grounds will feature tents of folk art, handmade items, travel and culinary, resorts and accommodations, real estate, local honey, promotional and farm exhibits, and many others involved in the active lifestyle of Georgia Wine Country. Special folk artist John “Cornbread” Anderson will be attending "kick-off weekend" with original works of art for sale.
The music lineup includes North Georgia's Buzzard Mountain Boys and Charlotte, North Carolina's Route 66 on June 4-5, The Mossy Creek Gypsies on June 11-12 , Nashville, TN's Eric Brace and Peter Cooper on June 18, and the Buzzard Mountain Boys returning June 19th. Additional performers are expected to be added. Festival hours are 10:00 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays and 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sundays.
