The Laughing Elephant Southern Bakery, located at the Kemp House in downtown Cumming, opened for business August 4. Owned and operated by the “rebel” baking team of Kathleen and Daniel Stockham, The Laughing Elephant Southern Bakery features a menu comprised of all sorts of pies, cakes, cupcakes, and other delightful baked goods. “We are all about good food and classic Southern desserts, all served in a not-so-serious manner,” says Kathleen Stockham.

The Laughing Elephant Southern Bakery is located at 103 Kelly Mill Road at the Corner of Highway 20 and Kelly Mill Road. Inside the 1891 legendary Kemp House, while the Stockham baking team prepares their mouth-watering goodies, patrons can enjoy a dining area featuring not only tables and chairs, but a comfy couch, too. If you must take your treat and run, that’s OK, but keep in mind there are two TVs and Wi-Fi access if you feel like making yourself at home.
