Education is an important issue at the forefront of many parent’s minds. For those seeking an alternative to traditional classrooms, the Montessori method is a viable option. Those in Cumming and the surrounding areas, have the option to explore the Montessori method, an approach to learning with no distinction of class, culture, or intelligence. Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs is available to children ages 2 to 12, and beginning in the fall of 2009, will also be available to middle school children, invite parents to explore their school and the methods they teach.

If you are interested in a Montessori education for your child, the Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs invites you to come hear their guest speaker, Dr. Betsy Coe, recipient of the 2008 American Montessori Society Living Legacy award, on April 16th at 6:30 p.m.. Dr. Coe holds a PhD in Adolescent Studies and is a nationally recognized authority on the adolescent child. She has developed a high quality program for the School of the Woods in Houston Texas and will be discussing the latest research and benefits of a Montessori education.
The Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs employs teachers who have college degrees coupled with Montessori Certification obtained through nationally recognized programs. They maintain a ratio of one teacher and one assistant to 25 students. While they currently teach children ages 2 through 12, they will be offering a Middle School program beginning in the fall of 2009. Groundbreaking for a new building for middle school ages (12 to 15) will begin this summer.
