Prior to the popularity of chain stores and Internet commerce, businesses were part of the community. The term "locally owned" meant that a business, whether it was a bakery or a hardware store, was owned by someone that was invested in the growth of the community. Lakeland Heating and Air still believes in this dynamic and uses their experience, talent and commitment to excellence to serve their North Georgia community.
Family and community are important to Dwight Collett of Lakeland Heating and Air. He proudly describes himself as "second generation" as he followed his father into the industry in 1971. Ten years ago, Dwight decided to open his own business and founded Lakeland Heating and Air. Serving residential areas, Lakeland Heating and Air provides installation and repair services for most air conditioning and heating systems.
With 36 years experience Dwight decided to establish his business in Cumming "because it’s home." And because it is home, Lakeland Heating and Air donates their time and services to those in need in the area. In addition to supporting Little League baseball and football programs, Lakeland also donates their services to shelters for abused women and children. As the business of everyday life becomes increasingly impersonal, it is refreshing to find a locally owned business that believes in more than customer service, but also community service.
Lakeland Heating and Air is open 9am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and is located at 6755 Concord Road in Cumming. You can reach them via email at
