CUMMING, Ga.– The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and their partner, ExecuCourt, announced today the creation of Forsyth County’s first business accelerator. The accelerator will be a component of the Chamber’s Small Business Services Center which will be located in ExecuCourt’s office suites located off McFarland Avenue in southern Forsyth County.
“The business accelerator will allow entrepreneurs who have launched a small business the opportunity to build a solid foundation to grow their success through access to one-on-one coaching and personalized small business resources in an environment designed to cultivate their success” said Lynn Jackson, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
The idea for an accelerator came from research that was compiled as a part of the Chamber’s efforts to have Cumming/Forsyth County designated as Entrepreneur Friendly. Governor Perdue awarded that designation to the community in December of 2006.
“What we found was once an entrepreneur puts in the hard work to get their business off the ground there is not a centralized collection of resources to help them leverage that great start into a sustainable, thriving endeavor,” stated Jackson. “An accelerator is the perfect tool for an established but still young business to be nurtured and coached into the next big thing.”
The Chamber has been looking for an opportunity to expand their already strong presence in Cumming by reaching out to the burgeoning South Forsyth County area. Housing the Small Business Services Center in the same location as the accelerator creates a powerful synergy of opportunity, said Brian Dill, Vice President of Economic Development.
“ExecuCourt is committed to the development of entrepreneurs and their businesses through innovative office solutions,” said Remington Reynolds, owner of ExecuCourt. “Partnering with the Chamber to extend our experience and resources through their small business development efforts was a natural choice for us.”
