The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider amending Forsyth County's Parks and Recreation Ordinance at their regular meeting Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 5 p.m.
The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning proposed modifications to Forsyth County's Parks and Recreation Ordinance, specifically to modify language regarding who may enforce the Ordinance, to remove specific language in the Ordinance pertaining to facility usage permits, to declare the Park and Recreation Board as the recommending authority for Park and Recreation facility usage policies, to require Board of Commissioners ratification of such policies prior to them becoming effective and enforceable, and to implement procedures for ratification and a process for remand of policies from the Board of Commissioners to the Park and Recreation Board for further deliberation, to provide for severability, to repeal conflicting ordinances, and for other purposes.
The public hearing will be held in the Forsyth County Administration Building (Suite 220), located at 110 E. Main Street in Cumming. All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
