No one is prepared when the Herdman children take over this year’s Christmas pageant! They are described as the “rottenest kids in the history of the earth.” They lie, they steal, they cuss, they smoke cigars—even the girls! After hearing the Christmas story for the first time, the Herdmans decide that “the Wise Men are a bunch of dirty spies and Herod needs a good beating.” Emma Jean Herdman, (the self-appointed “Mary”) decides they need a real baby for the pageant and suggests they steal one from the local supermarket.
Things start to spin out of control!
