I Believe

I Believe...

That few things are worth fighting over but those few are worth the fight.

That trust is more important than love because without trust, true love will not exist because you can't fully give love from the heart to one whom you don't trust.

That six out of ten times, you’re wrong.

We need to drink more water.

That the sidelines in life are full.

That if you say that you will never be a certain way, you most likely already are.

That wisdom comes from two sources: God and pain.

Life is an ongoing experience, not just nights and days. (There is a difference.)

There is no such thing as moderation; you’re doing something or you're not.

That ants are stronger than men...there is something to that.

We mistake freedoms for rights when the difference between them is vast.

Laughter is the soul breathing, and most do not get enough air.

The book usually beats the movie.

Actors are paid liars.

A good Mother’s and/or Father’s love is the closest thing God allows to His own.

We are born bad, and spend our life trying to fight it, and with God’s grace we can.

Temptation is not a threat, but it is a promise.

The Bible is God's Word and true.

You can sometimes find more wisdom in fewer words.

In the middle of the night and in your loneliest moment, God is there.

God doesn't take away pain as much as He gives us the strength to endure it.

Mountains in life can be ladders; it depends on your view.

Tears are good. We should cry more over good things.

Your spouse had better be your best friend.

The birth of a child, especially my own, is the greatest thing I have ever witnessed.

A million dollars should be lent to a stranger before your trust is given to many that you think you know.

Everyone who touches your heart leaves a fingerprint.

Nothing is shatterproof, so don't always trust the labels. There is a lesson in there somewhere.

We know what we think we know and believe what we make out to be our truth.

Happiness comes from within, never from without.

Puppy love is real to the puppy and love never survives without sacrifice.

Without faith and hope goals are unreachable, worse, unnecessary, because without faith and hope you have not the means to reach them.

I believe that the most important part of the tombstone is not the dates, but what you did with the dash between them.

All in all I have learned a good bit more than I could ever write.

Have I made mistakes? Boat loads.

Do I have regrets? Very few.

Would I do it differently? Not much.

Would I do it better? Of course.

Think about it, you can never know then what you know now.... otherwise, you would have never learned it.

Do we all have scars? Yes. Some deserved, some earned. Some were given to us uninvited.

Am I a victim? Hardly. I am just one walking the path that is set before me.

We are just like others...only different.

I believe that God laughs and He cries and that we are the cause of both emotions. I only wonder what I have caused Him to do the most of…

As I write these things, I do so with a transparency, an honest gut feeling filtered with deep thought. I do not, of course, have stats to prove any of it; most of it is from experience.

I do not write all things in hopes that you will agree with all of it; but instead I write it to make you think, to make you smile, to engage the center of yourself and to encourage you to look closely at the one in the mirror occasionally, but more consistently, to look inside the one in the mirror. There is where the good is that can be improved upon, and where the bad that can be swept out hides.
