Saint Brigid Catholic Church in neighboring Alpharetta recently launched the first edition of a new parish magazine - The Q - The Quintessential Journey. The idea for a parish magazine was suggested by founding pastor, Monsignor Joseph Corbett, 'Father Joe,' prior to his departure to assume the office of Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Monsignor Reynolds - Saint Brigid's current pastor -- the clergy, staff and parishioners of Saint Brigid embraced the design and mission of The Q, and are excited with the results.

This high-quality magazine communicates real life stories of Saint Brigid parishioners through their shared experiences within the Church's various ministries and beyond. The stories highlight the journeys of parishioners, whose experiences have formed a spiritual path in the "connection of life and faith." These are the personal and transformative experiences of Life Teen at Saint Brigid, Mustard Seed Communities, Eucharistic Adoration, the Music Ministry, the Children's Choir and more. From their experiences, stewardship has become an essential follow through.

The Q team is led by co-editors Lewis Walker and Maria Forbes. "The magazine encourages fellowship; a connection to each other and to our church as a whole. The Q will provide awareness to the ways in which God calls us in the midst of everyday life and to recognition of the Holy Spirit's inspiration to follow His call," explained Maria Forbes.  "On this quintessential journey, we find the act of sharing reveals new opportunities to merge life and faith on the way to Heaven, and the gifted volunteers who contribute time and expertise in writing, advertising and production," she continued. 

"We wanted a way to communicate the real life events of our own parishioners, and The Q seemed to be the answer we were looking for," commented Lewis Walker. "The Q will bring the work of the Holy Spirit to our front door, into our homes and into our lives through the shared experiences of our fellow parishioners," he continued. 

The Q team is enthusiastically working on the second issue, due for completion in early 2008. Those involved feel that this magazine is truly a blessing to the Saint Brigid community, and a wonderful way to illustrate their walk together on - The Quintessential Journey.
