On April 28th, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. a tradition of running in the most natural setting imaginable will continue with the Spring Fig Leaf 5K at Paradise Valley Resort, near Dawsonville, GA.

The Fig Leaf 5K, which began with an autumn edition in 1996, is the only clothing-optional 5K in Georgia.  Here approximately 100 runners and walkers toe the line for a challenging 5K unlike any other.  The majority of those who run the Fig Leaf 5K take advantage of the unique opportunity to run or walk the course “clothing free”.

Set in the beautiful North Georgia mountains, the scenery could not be more fitting for a clothing optional run.  But if you think that the option of running this race in the nude is the only thing that draws a crowd, think again.  The setting is beautifully green and inviting, and the people that live and play at “The Valley” offer a warm welcome and friendly smile to everyone.

As with nearly all runs, entrants receive a t-shirt.  The irony is not lost on the race organizer, but that is what makes getting a t-shirt for a nude run so perfectly fun.

To sweeten the deal, the resort offers all runners free admission to spend the day enjoying three pools, two hot tubs, the clubhouse and bar and all of the other amenities, including the Saturday night dance in the clubhouse.  At the dance, runners, members, visitors, and volunteers can dance the night away, and get to know the people of Paradise Valley.
