In association with North Georgia College and State University, Cedar Hill Enrichment Center offers the following classes:

March 1, 2008: Composting & Organic Gardening

Discover some simple organic gardening techniques and learn how to make a compost bin. A special afternoon session will be offered with lunch for participants who would like the hands-on experience of making a compost bin on site.  Facilitator: Dennis Whittle is a North Georgia College and State University instructor, Forsyth County Master Gardener and organic gardener with over 25 years experience. A.M. only: $49.00 compost bin blueprints included Lunch and afternoon session $69.00

March 4, 2008:  Making Herbal Soaps

Learn how to use fresh herbs in making hand-crafted organic soap. We will harvest herbs grown organically at Cedar Hill and learn about the healing  properties of each. Facilitator: Kat Stratton, Director of Cedar Hill, is a National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward, NWF Host trainer and Master Gardener. $49.00 - all materials included.

March 8, 2008: Water - How to Save It & Recycle By Using Rain Barrels

Come and learn how to make your own rain barrel. Workshop includes a Power Point presentation with facts about collecting water, then participants will have a hands-on session making their own rain barrel, which they can take home. "Harvest your own water and save the environment and cash!"  Facilitator: Kat Stratton, Director of Cedar Hill, is a National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward, NWF Host trainer and Master Gardener. $69.00 includes your rain barrel.

March 11, 2008: Is Your Garden a Pollinator Magnet?

Learn what native plants attract birds, butterflies and bees to your garden and the benefits of inviting them into your yard. Cedar Hill is a certified Wildlife Habitat. Facilitator: Kat Stratton, Director of Cedar Hill, is a National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward, NWF Host trainer for stewards and a Forsyth County Master Gardener. $49.00
