New Year’s Eve can be especially challenging to arrange for families with young children. Below are a few ideas to consider when planning a fabulous New Year’s Eve, family style.
Zoo Atlanta Noon Years Eve
Who said grown ups should have all of the fun? This year, party the day away with your favorite friends in the zoo as you toast, rattle, and roll in 2008 in the city’s family-friendliest New Year’s Celebration. Spend the afternoon with Father Time as the ball drops to signify the New Year with apple juice toasts, refreshments, crafts, games, music and more. Although the event is included with paid admission to the zoo, and free to zoo members, reservations are required. Choose from one of three midday bashes to be held at 10 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm. Each event culminates with the ball drop. Visit www.zooatlanta.org to make your reservations today.
Chick-fil-A Bowl Parade
Enjoy a special family outing on New Year’s Eve Day as you witness giant helium balloons, colorful floats, classic cars, cheerleaders, mascots, marching bands, dance groups and more as part of the pre-game celebration of the annual Chick-fil-a-bowl which kicks off at 7:30 pm at the Georgia Dome. The parade begins at 12:30 at the intersection of Peachtree Street and Ralph McGill Boulevard, and ends at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Chick-fil-A Bowl FanFest
Following the parade on December 31, 2007, Coca-Cola presents the ultimate pep-rally and pre-game festivities at the Georgia World Congress Center from 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm. Cheerleaders, mascots, and bands from Auburn and Clemson will be on hand to celebrate and generate enthusiasm in preparation for kick-off at 7:30 at the Georgia Dome. All sorts of activities will be available for all ages, including punting, passing, and kicking games, obstacle courses, and rock climbing walls. This is an ideal way to join in the festivities even if you were not fortunate to obtain tickets to the game. Tickets to the FanFest are $10 and may be purchased at the door.
